Miyeon of I-DLE drew attention after honestly addressing nose surgery rumors and look alike comparisons to top actresses Song Hye Kyo and Son Ye Jin, all while hooked up to a lie detector.
On February 5, Miyeon appeared on the YouTube show If You Open Your Mouth alongside fellow member Minnie, where they talked with MC Lee Yong Jin about honesty in the idol world.
During the conversation, Lee Yong Jin jokingly brought up headlines about Miyeon and teased her, asking if she had ever gotten eyebrow tattoos or nose surgery.
Miyeon responded clearly, saying, “I didn’t get surgery,” but laughed and added, “How can you ask questions like that?”
When told that her nose looked especially high that day, Miyeon calmly explained, “It’s my natural nose. It’s slightly hooked and the bone sticks out a bit.”
She added that she only noticed it after debut when she saw side profile photos, and shared that both of her parents naturally have high noses as well.
The highlight came when Miyeon was asked about rumors saying she looks like Song Hye Kyo. She firmly denied it, saying, “That’s really not true.”
However, when the lie detector reacted, Miyeon laughed and explained, “My heart started beating really fast when I heard the question. I think it’s because I want to look like her,” drawing laughter from everyone.
When asked about being compared to Son Ye Jin instead, Miyeon answered honestly, saying she might have “just a tiny bit of Son Ye Jin’s vibe.”
Miyeon also shared her mindset going forward, saying that as she gains more experience, she wants to show a more mature and refined side, and plans to finally act on ideas she has only thought about in the past, raising expectations for her future activities.
