Former EXO member Tao is drawing attention for his unexpected success in China, revealing that his sanitary pad business earned around 30 billion won in sales in just three months.

Tao recently appeared on the YouTube show Study King Real Genius Hong Jin Kyung, where he shared updates about his life and career.

Now active as a top influencer in China, Tao has 34 million followers on Douyin and is known for reaching 1 million simultaneous viewers, a rare and impressive record.

During the show, Tao casually shared, “My life is good, and I’m married. I mainly sell sanitary pads.” He explained that he started the business because he wanted women to use the product “more safely and without worry,” adding that the production process can be monitored at any time, allowing users to feel reassured.

Tao also confidently stated, “I’m not embarrassed at all about this business. I think choosing this was right, and I feel it’s a very good thing.”

When asked about sales, Tao revealed, “We’ve sold 150 million sanitary pads, with total sales of 150 million yuan,” which is roughly 30 billion won.

However, he clarified that profits are still limited, saying that about 25 billion won has been invested into operating six factory production lines, and the business has not yet fully recovered its costs.

Tao also sent a warm message to Korean viewers, saying, “It’s been a really long time,” and adding, “I hope everyone is happy and enjoying their current lives.”

Tao debuted in 2012 as a member of EXO but left the group after three years before returning to China to continue his solo career.

In October last year, he made headlines again after marrying Chinese singer and actress Xu Yi Yang, a former SM Entertainment trainee.
