Attention is once again focused on Jisoo as she prepares to return to acting through Netflix’s upcoming series Boyfriend on Demand, with many wondering if this project will mark a turning point for her acting skills.

Set to premiere on March 6, Boyfriend on Demand is a romantic comedy built around a virtual dating subscription service, offering a fresh concept aimed at modern viewers who find dating exhausting.

Jisoo plays Mirae, a webtoon producer worn out by real life, who steps into a virtual dating world in search of excitement. She stars alongside Seo In Guk, who plays Kyung Nam.

The series was planned around the idea that “even excitement can be subscribed to,” and features visually appealing dating simulations designed to deliver light romance and emotional fun.

Speaking about the project, Jisoo described it as “a lively romantic comedy” where the main character “wants love and dopamine but struggles with real life problems and slowly grows.”

She added that the drama is “ready to give viewers a sense of excitement,” especially for those tired of their repetitive daily routines.

Seo In Guk also shared his thoughts, calling the drama “a project with a unique idea.” He explained that showing romance in both virtual and real worlds at the same time makes the story especially appealing, adding to anticipation.

However, criticism surrounding Jisoo’s acting has not fully faded. Following her 2021 drama Snowdrop, she faced negative reviews related to voice delivery and emotional expression. Similar reactions continued through later projects, keeping public opinion divided.

Because Boyfriend on Demand focuses heavily on emotional immersion and delivering romantic excitement, Jisoo’s performance is expected to play a key role in how the drama is received.

With direction by Kim Jung Sik, known for romantic comedies, and growing interest in her chemistry with Seo In Guk, many viewers are watching closely to see if this project can change the conversation around Jisoo’s acting.
