Jang Wonyoung of IVE was recently caught in an unexpected controversy after reports claimed she arrived late to a fashion event.
However, it was later confirmed that the situation was caused by an issue on the organizer’s side, not the artist herself.
On the morning of the 29th, Jang Wonyoung attended a photo call event in Seongsu dong, Seoul, for the launch of luxury cashmere brand Barrie’s 2026 Spring Summer collection.

Shortly after, claims spread saying she was “late,” leading to complaints from reporters and a wave of criticism online.
As the controversy grew, it was revealed that Jang Wonyoung had not been late at all. Instead, the delay happened due to problems with the on site event flow.
Later that afternoon, the event agency Taxi released an official statement to clear up the misunderstanding.
The agency said, “We apologize for making reporters wait due to the photo call operation not running smoothly today,” and added, “Some incorrect information about the artist’s appearance time is spreading, so we would like to explain the full situation.”
According to the agency, the arrival time given to Jang Wonyoung was 11:30 AM, and she had already arrived by 11:25 AM and was waiting in front of the venue.
They explained, “Because parking in front of the venue was not possible, the event staff asked her to wait,” adding that she waited for about 10 minutes for the official call signal.
The agency concluded, “Due to a delay in the call signal from the event operations team, Jang Wonyoung appeared at 11:35 AM instead of 11:30 AM. We sincerely apologize for the damage caused to Jang Wonyoung due to incorrect information.”
With the clarification now made public, many are pointing out that the criticism toward Jang Wonyoung was unfair, once again highlighting the need for accurate information before placing blame on artists.
