“Undercover Miss Hong” jumps to new ratings highs and enters Netflix Global Top 10 as Park Shin Hye’s retro comedy wins big love

tvN’s weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong is quickly becoming a hot topic as it records strong ratings growth and earns global attention, proving its rising popularity both in Korea and overseas.

According to Nielsen Korea, the drama started with a 3.5% nationwide rating for its first episode on January 17.

The numbers continued to climb, reaching a new personal best of 7.4% by episode 4 on January 25. This steady rise shows growing interest and positive word of mouth among viewers.

The drama is also gaining traction globally. On January 28, Netflix’s official site Tudum revealed that Undercover Miss Hong ranked No. 6 on the Global Top 10 Non English TV Shows chart, highlighting its strong international response.

Much of the attention is centered on Park Shin Hye, whose performance has been praised for its balance of comedy and strength.

Speaking about her character, Park Shin Hye shared, “Geum Bo’s charm is that she doesn’t shrink back because of the times. She shows her abilities and moves forward bravely,” helping viewers connect with the story.

Drama critic Gong Hee Jung also praised the show’s direction, saying, “It blends different genres in a fun way, and the well controlled comedy makes it more enjoyable,” adding that the drama succeeds in delivering both entertainment and meaning.

With rising ratings in Korea and a solid ranking on Netflix’s global chart, Undercover Miss Hong is clearly building momentum as one of the standout Korean dramas of the season.
