
EXO has proven that the long wait was worth it as their 8th full album REVERXE continues to receive strong praise from overseas media while dominating global charts.
Released after 2 years and 6 months, REVERXE quickly drew worldwide attention. Even before its release, the album was named “one of the most anticipated K pop comebacks of 2026” by Forbes, while UK music outlet NME also included it in its list of the “most anticipated album releases of 2026.”
Following the release, NME awarded the album 4 out of 5 stars, praising EXO as an “album focused artist” known for strong storytelling through world building, track flow, and overall mood. The outlet noted that REVERXE strengthens EXO’s identity while also showing new creative possibilities.
U.S. music and culture magazine tmrw Magazine shared positive feedback on the title track Crown, calling it a song that reflects EXO’s “confidence and maturity” and describes it as a track that naturally connects their legacy while signaling “the start of a new chapter.”
UK music and fashion media CLASH also labeled REVERXE a “comeback blockbuster,” highlighting the group’s sincerity during their comeback showcase.
The album’s chart performance has been equally impressive. REVERXE topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 46 regions worldwide, including Nigeria, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Norway.
In China, it earned Triple Platinum certification on QQ Music with sales exceeding 3 million yuan. The album also ranked No. 1 on digital album sales charts, overall and Korean music video charts, and achieved a rare No. 1 to No. 9 sweep on the integrated K pop chart across five Tencent Music platforms.
In addition, it reached No. 1 on Kugou Music’s digital album chart, Japan’s Recochoku daily album ranking, and AWA’s real time rising chart.
With strong reviews and dominant global rankings, EXO’s REVERXE is firmly proving itself as a true comeback blockbuster.
