During a recent interview, Park Seo Joon talked about a time when exhaustion from nonstop work caught up with him.
He admitted, “I also had a period of burnout. I struggled for about a year, and during that time, I drank a lot.” He explained that alcohol became a way to cope, saying it felt like “the heavy weight inside me was coming down.”

Park Seo Joon shared that he deeply related to emotional lines from his latest drama Surely Tomorrow, adding that some of the dialogue felt like it was “being said to me.” He recalled one line in particular about drinking out of frustration and said it resonated because it reflected “someone just trying to survive.”
When asked how he eventually overcame burnout, Park Seo Joon said, “In the end, time solves it.”
He explained that he needed time for his heart to feel calm again and that the hardest part was dealing with helplessness.
To get through it, he focused on keeping himself busy and finding his own way to recover.
Looking back, Park Seo Joon shared that the burnout came from running nonstop since his debut.
He said that at one point, everything started to feel mechanical, and he questioned whether he was still working because he truly enjoyed it.
Now, however, he reassured fans that he is in a much better place, saying, “It’s completely gone now. My energy is very good.”
