Singer and actor Im Si Wan recently shared what it’s like to be signed under two major entertainment companies, SM Entertainment and The Black Label, in a new video.

On January 13, the YouTube channel TEO Teo released a video titled “Great guy supported by SM on the left and The Black Label on the right | EP. 122 Im Si Wan | Salon Drip”.

In the video, Im Si Wan explained that his first solo album was produced under SM, even though he is now officially signed with The Black Label. He said, “I signed a music-related contract with SM a year ago. I told them, ‘I want to release an album and communicate with fans on stage,’ and they planned it. After that, I signed an exclusive contract with The Black Label.”

When asked which company’s managers attend his promotions, Im Si Wan revealed, “It’s an unusual experience, but managers from both companies come. It’s like a grand unification of SM and The Black Label, two amazing companies.”

He also shared how he divides his work between the two agencies, saying, “I do recordings with SM and project meetings with The Black Label.” On the perks of being in both agencies, he added, “At SM, if an artist releases an album, they wrap coffee cups in the company café to celebrate. The Black Label has a space where you can exercise or read scripts when needed.”

Commenting on Im Si Wan’s profile photos released the same day, host Jang Do Yeon said, “The feeling is completely different. SM feels warm, The Black Label feels cold. The temperature difference is so interesting.” Im Si Wan agreed, saying, “Coincidentally, they were released on the same day. I definitely feel it’s better to have experts supporting me.”

Im Si Wan’s rare experience of working with two major companies at the same time continues to impress fans, showing how he benefits from the strengths of both SM and The Black Label.
