Kang Tae Oh humbly reacts to romance master title and shares behind the scenes thoughts from "Moon River"

Actor Kang Tae Oh is gaining attention for his strong romance acting through MBC’s historical drama Moon River, marking his return to a sageuk after six years.

In a recent wrap up interview, Kang Tae Oh shared his thoughts on the drama and his role as Prince Lee Kang.

He showed a wide range of emotions in the series, balancing serious moments with soft romance, which earned positive reactions from viewers.

Talking about the project, Kang Tae Oh said, “I burned through 2025 with this drama. It feels sad that it’s over, but it also became a good memory, so I’m thankful.”

He admitted he felt pressure returning to a historical drama, especially on MBC, but said constant talks with Kim Se Jeong and the director helped him stay confident.

Kang Tae Oh also spoke warmly about his chemistry with Kim Se Jeong, sharing, I’m shy, but Kim Se Jeong has bright energy, so I felt comfortable quickly. Communication was very important, and I think that helped our chemistry.” The two were later nominated for Best Couple at the 2025 MBC Drama Awards, drawing more attention to their on screen partnership.

When asked why his romance acting stands out, Kang Tae Oh smiled and said, Kim Se Jeong also said my eyes are good at expressing emotions. Since it’s a compliment, I think it could be my strength.”

Despite being called a “romance expert,” Kang Tae Oh stayed humble, saying he hopes to challenge himself with different genres in the future.

Now in his 12th year since debut, he shared that he feels more responsibility as an actor and wants to continue growing with better projects ahead.
