The Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines, starring Park Bo Gum and IU, has proven its strong popularity by winning the Grand Prize at the 2025 FUNdex Awards.
The awards ceremony was held on December 18 and was organized by Good Data Corporation, a company known for analyzing the competitiveness of Korean content.
The FUNdex Awards are unique because the results are decided using 100 percent data, including buzz rankings, search trends, the FUNdex index, and how often shows and cast members ranked in the Top 10.
Unlike other awards that focus only on popularity, the FUNdex Awards also measure how fun and enjoyable a show is for viewers. Because of this, When Life Gives You Tangerines stood out in both buzz and viewer response.
At this year’s ceremony, Netflix productions dominated the results, taking home awards in seven major categories. In particular, When Life Gives You Tangerines won three big awards, including Best OTT Original Drama, Best OTT Actor for Park Bo Gum, and Best OTT Actress for IU, showing the drama’s strong impact throughout the year.
The Grand Prize for the drama was accepted by Pan Entertainment CEO Park Sang Hyun, who shared that it was “an honor to receive such a special award.”
Park Bo Gum, who won the Performer Grand Prize in the OTT drama category, could not attend the event due to overseas schedules.
He shared his thoughts through a video message, saying he was “very happy” and thankful that the drama received “so much love and attention,” adding his sincere thanks to everyone who worked on the project.
With top rankings, strong data performance, and multiple major wins, When Life Gives You Tangerines has clearly established itself as one of the most successful OTT dramas of the year.
