Actress Kim Go Eun recently shared her wish to take on a romantic comedy role before she gets older, while her latest Netflix series, The Price of Confession, continues to perform well in top rankings.
Released on the 5th, The Price of Confession follows Yun Soo (Jeon Do Yeon), who is accused of killing her husband, and a mysterious figure Mo Eun (Kim Go Eun) as they enter a secret deal. The series has captivated audiences with its suspenseful plot and strong performances.
During a recent interview at a café in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Kim Go Eun reflected on her recent projects.
She starred in last year’s blockbuster film Pahmyo and received praise for her performance in Love in a Big City. This year, her roles in the dramas Eun Joong and Sang Yeon and The Price of Confession have drawn attention for their depth and emotion.
Kim Go Eun said, “Getting good reviews in a row feels like a miracle. There are times when, no matter how hard you try, people don’t notice it. I’ve faced many projects that didn’t succeed, but I try to accept praise for my effort as encouragement.”
She added, “I can be proud that I’ve worked hard since my debut. Even if I made mistakes interpreting a character, I always did my best. I’m happy to meet a variety of projects.”
The actress also shared how she prepares for roles: “I try to understand my role better than anyone else. When I need to persuade a director, I prepare my reasons and answers in advance. Then I communicate clearly.”
She explained that she often seeks advice from her agency team when deciding on projects, discussing the script’s strengths and analyzing what works before accepting a role.
When asked about feedback from her classmates at the Korea National University of Arts, Kim Go Eun said, “I haven’t heard from them yet. They’re really into Ahn Eun Jin’s Kissing for No Reason! They text her every time they watch it. They haven’t seen my series yet, but I’m sure they’ll reach out once they do.”
Looking ahead, she shared her dream role: “Before I get older, I want to do a romantic comedy like Ahn Eun Jin did. I loved Dynamic Kiss so much that I scream and clap while watching. I want to star in a rom-com that makes viewers like me excited and fully immersed.”
