BTS's Jin is proving his unstoppable solo power once again with his first mini album HAPPY, which has become a double million seller on both Hanteo and Circle charts. On Circle Chart, cumulative sales have now surpassed 3 million copies, showing just how strong Jin’s album-selling ability is as he fully resumes his solo activities.

Released on November 15, 2024, HAPPY sold 845,690 copies on its first day, topping Hanteo’s daily album chart.

This already beat the first-week sales of Jin’s 2022 solo single The Astronaut, which sold 770,126 copies.

With steady sales, the album quickly reached million-seller status on both Hanteo and Circle charts, and eventually surpassed 3 million cumulative copies on Circle Chart.

Jin has already set impressive solo records. His first single album The Astronaut sold over 1.04 million copies in just over a month, becoming the fastest album in Circle Chart history to reach 1 million sales. That album also ranked 17th on Circle Chart’s 2022 year-end album chart, the highest ever for a solo single album.

HAPPY also made waves in Japan. On December 10, 2024, the Japan Record Association confirmed that the album surpassed 250,000 cumulative shipments, earning Jin his first Platinum certification as a solo artist, surpassing the Gold certification of The Astronaut.

The album quickly topped the Oricon Weekly Digital Album Ranking just three days after release and reached No.1 on the Daily Album Ranking with nearly 220,000 copies sold on day one. On Billboard Japan’s 2024 year-end chart, Jin achieved the highest album sales among K-pop solo artists, setting a new record.

Jin’s success goes beyond album sales. HAPPY reached No.1 on iTunes Top Album charts in 48 countries/regions, while the title track Running Wild topped iTunes Top Song charts in 70 countries/regions. The song also reached No.1 on Spotify Japan Daily Top Song, recording the largest streams ever for a K-pop artist, solo or group. On Hanteo 2024 Year-End Album Chart, Jin ranked No.1 among solo artists, proving he delivered the year’s best results despite a late-year release.

From singles to mini albums and from domestic to international markets, Jin continues to prove his power as a solo artist. The 3 million cumulative sales of HAPPY are not just numbers—they reflect Jin’s consistent success and his growing place in the global music market.
