Actor Gong Myung is now officially a “gomsin” after sending off his younger brother, NCT’s Doyoung, to the military.
On December 8, Gong Myung posted touching photos of the moment he said goodbye, writing, “My little brother, go to the military safely without getting hurt and come back healthy. I’ll wait for you in the future.”
One photo shows him warmly leaning his forehead against Doyoung’s freshly shaved head, creating a sweet and emotional moment that quickly spread online.
Another shot shows Doyoung and Jung Woo posing with a heart, showing their strong friendship before enlistment.
SM Entertainment confirmed that Doyoung and Jung Woo enlisted together on December 8.
Doyoung entered as an active-duty Army soldier, while Jung Woo joined the Army military band. Both idols are expected to serve for about 1 year and 6 months.
Before going in, the two held a live broadcast where they joked with fans, saying, “Please continue liking only NCT. We’re the ones who will miss you. There will be many temptations, so don’t watch too many year-end stages. Please choose your favorite only within NCT,” making fans laugh.
Doyoung and Jung Woo are now the third and fourth NCT members to begin their military service, following Taeyong and Jaehyun earlier this year.
