Actor Lee Yi Kyung is making headlines after his recent award acceptance speech caused some controversy, but his agency has cleared up the confusion.
A representative from Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sang Young ENT, told Newsen on December 8, “He did not aim at Yoo Jae Suk. There is no reason for him to do so”. They added, “We hope everyone will take his speech exactly as it was delivered.”
Lee Yi Kyung attended the 10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025 (AAA 2025) on December 6 at the National Stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where he received the AAA Best Choice Award.
On stage, he said, “I sincerely thank everyone who gave me my voice and this award at the end of 2025. I also thank my agency CEO.”
He also mentioned a personal matter, saying, “It felt like I was hit by hail that wasn’t in the weather forecast. The person responsible has been sending apology and leniency emails to our company. We will catch them no matter what,” referring to someone spreading personal rumors.
Lee Yi Kyung also addressed his Hangout With Yoo? co-stars, saying, “‘SNL,’ are you watching? I will now take Thursdays off. And Haha hyung, Joo Woo Jae hyung, I want to see you,” leaving out Yoo Jae Suk from his comments.
After previously leaving Hangout With Yoo? and openly criticizing the production team, some fans speculated that he was targeting Yoo Jae Suk again.
However, the agency clarified, emphasizing that Lee Yi Kyung did not aim at anyone personally.
