Park Bo Gum is once again earning praise for showing the beauty of Korea and the elegance of hanbok to fans around the world — and this time, he did it on one of the biggest global K-pop stages.

On November 28, Park Bo Gum hosted Chapter 1 of the 2025 MAMA Awards at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. From the moment he appeared, fans were captivated by his calm presence and striking visuals. Wearing a black suit with a mourning ribbon, he opened the show with a moment of silence for the victims of the recent Hong Kong fire, showing respect and compassion.

But it was the opening video that stole the spotlight. The clip highlighted this year’s theme, “UH-HEUNG,” and Park Bo Gum appeared with visuals that looked like he had stepped right out of a historical drama. When the camera zoomed into an ink painting on the wall, Park Bo Gum suddenly appeared from inside it and said, “Come in,” immediately impressing viewers.

Dressed in traditional hanbok and a gat, he shared a poetic message about the meaning of “heung,” telling viewers that the spirit of excitement has always been with people across time and space. “Everyone is shouting their own heung. Then are you ready to shake the world with your own heung?” he asked, officially kicking off the ceremony. He then changed into a black dopo, showing a stronger and more charismatic look.

At the end of the night, Park Bo Gum wrapped up the event in a bright hanbok, once again highlighting the beauty of traditional Korean clothing. He thanked all the artists and staff, saying they became “one through the music we enjoyed together,” and hoped the show brought comfort to viewers.

Park Bo Gum’s influence in promoting hanbok isn’t new. During Chuseok, he went viral for his photoshoot with the Hanbok Wave Project, becoming the first male model for the campaign. He wore over 10 styles of hanbok, and the photos were displayed in major global cities, including New York’s Times Square and Milan’s Duomo Square, proving his power to share Korean culture worldwide.

With his graceful presence, meaningful message, and stunning visuals, Park Bo Gum once again showed why he is loved globally — and why hanbok continues to shine when he wears it.
