B1A4’s Jinyoung surprised many as he confessed that even after 14 completely clean years with no dating rumors, no scandals, and no controversies, he still gets extremely nervous when performing.
During an interview held in Gangnam for the finale of ENA’s Monday–Tuesday drama Ms. Incognito, Jinyoung shared, “I always get nervous. I think a lot. Every time I stand on stage, I shake so much that I feel like I wasn’t born to be an entertainer.”
His honest words came at a meaningful time—Ms. Incognito ended on a high note with 7.1% nationwide ratings, officially becoming ENA’s second-highest-rated drama ever, only behind the mega-hit Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
Jinyoung, who debuted with B1A4 in 2011, has built a reputation as one of the rare idols with zero negative rumors throughout his career. Even so, he admitted that the nerves never went away.
“There are many juniors now and I’ve gained a lot of experience, but I still feel more nervous than relaxed,” he said. “But it’s not always a weakness. Because I get nervous, I prepare even more.”
The actor also shared how special filming Ms. Incognito was for him, saying he wanted to visit the set even on days he had no schedule because the atmosphere was “so good and positive” among the cast and staff.
He ended by expressing strong support for a second season, saying with a laugh, “I don’t know if I’ll appear or not, but if season 2 happens, it means viewers loved the drama. I truly support it.”
With his long-standing clean image, sincere personality, and a hit drama that boosted ENA’s ratings history, Jinyoung continues to prove why he remains one of the industry’s most trusted and respected idol-actors.
