The highly anticipated U.S. remake of Squid Game is finally moving forward, and fans are already buzzing.

Titled Squid Game: America, the series is set to begin filming in Los Angeles on February 26, 2026, according to new information shared on the Film and Television Industry Alliance website.

What’s making headlines even more is the director attached to the project. Acclaimed filmmaker David Fincher, known for hits like Se7en, Fight Club, Gone Girl, and The Social Network, will be holding the megaphone for the U.S. adaptation. Fans are calling it a major power move for the franchise.

The original creator of Squid Game, Hwang Dong Hyuk, and producer Kim Ji Yeon are also part of the production team, raising expectations for a remake that stays true to the spirit of the Korean series.

For now, the only name revealed in the cast is Cate Blanchett, who briefly appeared in the ending credits of Squid Game Season 3. Because of this, many believe the American version may continue right where the Korean storyline left off.

With filming set to begin soon and a world-famous director at the helm, Squid Game: America is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of 2026.

Fans everywhere are waiting to see how the iconic story will be reimagined in Hollywood.
