Singer Sunmi showed her heartwarming bond with her younger brother, touching everyone with their sweet exchange of affection.
On the November 2 episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy, Sunmi appeared as a special MC and joined the show’s popular “I love you” phone challenge.
During the episode, Sunmi shared how close she’s always been with her brother, saying, “I took care of my brother like a mom. I cooked for him and made sure he went to school in the morning. Even now, we still say ‘I love you’ to each other.”
The panel was surprised by her confession, with Seo Jang Hoon asking, “Is that even possible?” Sunmi smiled and replied, “At the end of our calls, when I say ‘I love you,’ he says ‘I love you too.’”
To prove it, Sunmi decided to call her brother on the spot. As soon as he picked up, she sweetly said, “I love you.” Without any hesitation, he immediately replied, “Yeah, I love you,” leaving everyone on set stunned and touched.
When Shin Dong Yup asked if he could say those words even in front of his friends, her brother responded, “I can. It’s just that she usually says it first. I feel a bit shy saying it, but I can do it.”
When asked to name three things he liked about his sister, he said, “She expresses her love a lot, she shows it through her wallet, and she’s always on my side.”
The cast couldn’t help but gush over their heartwarming sibling relationship, saying, “This is making me tear up,” and “They don’t seem like real-life siblings.”
