Oh My Girl member Mimi opened up about the painful struggles she went through during her early debut days — and fans are touched by her honesty and strength.
On the November 2 episode of TV Chosun’s variety show “The Korean Food Travel of Heo Young Man,” Mimi got candid about her past, revealing moments that made her doubt herself.
When host Heo Young Man asked if she had any solo schedules at the time, Mimi replied, “No, I didn’t have any solo schedules at all. I was like a dog guarding the house.”
She then recalled one painful moment that still sticks with her. “One time, the members were filming a commercial. They all looked like fairies, but I wasn’t that type.”

She added, “My skin was tanned and I had a more boyish style. It was a cosmetics commercial, and because I didn’t fit the concept, I was left alone in the waiting room,” she said.
Mimi added that she tried hard to fit in, saying, “I really did my best. I practiced in front of the mirror to look as pure and feminine as I could, but it just didn’t work. I felt so empty inside.”
Despite the hurt, Mimi ended with a message of strength that inspired many: “The one who endures is the one who survives. The one who endures wins. Life is all about enduring.”
Her honest confession moved fans, who praised her resilience and growth — proving once again that Mimi’s strength and charm go far beyond appearances.
