Former SISTAR member Soyou has become the center of online discussion after she claimed she was treated unfairly during a recent flight, saying she may have experienced racial discrimination.
On October 19, Soyou shared her experience through her official account, explaining, “I was very tired and only asked for a Korean flight attendant to check the meal time."
She added, "But the purser judged my attitude and treated me like a problematic passenger. I even said, ‘If I’m the problem, I’ll get off.’”
She added, “I had to endure cold looks and attitudes for the rest of the flight. That moment made me think, ‘Is this racial discrimination?’ I couldn’t eat anything during the 15-hour flight, and the experience left me with a deep scar.”

However, a witness who claimed to be on the same flight shared a different version of the event. The person wrote, “Soyou was drunk and said she wouldn’t eat because she was tired."

The witness added, "I also heard the staff tell her that passengers shouldn’t board while intoxicated. It’s not right to call this racial discrimination. As a Korean and a fan, I was embarrassed.”

The same person added that no security was involved and that Soyou herself said she was drunk and couldn’t read the menu, which is why she asked for a Korean flight attendant.
As of now, Soyou has not made any additional comments about the incident, and fans are waiting for clarification on what really happened.
