Girls’ Generation member and actress Kwon Yu Ri was left embarrassed when her ex-boyfriend Oh Seung Hwan was brought up during a recent YouTube broadcast.
On October 17, Yu Ri appeared on “Jjin Fan Zone 2” alongside former baseball player Kim Tae Gyun and actor Song Sang Eun. During the show, Kim Tae Gyun asked, “How do you feel when Samsung plays against our Hanwha?” Yu Ri replied, “Of course it’s fun,” adding, “It feels like it was planned, as if it was set up.”
However, Kim Tae Gyun then mentioned Yu Ri’s ex-boyfriend from 10 years ago, saying, “I even attended his retirement ceremony.” Yu Ri appeared visibly flustered and stayed silent.
Yu Ri had publicly dated Oh Seung Hwan, then a Samsung Lions player, in April 2015, but they broke up after six months. Oh Seung Hwan is now married with a son, having tied the knot in 2022, and retired last month after the 16th game of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League season against the KIA Tigers.
The mention of Oh Seung Hwan while Yu Ri was present sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers calling Kim Tae Gyun’s comment “rude.”
