Actor Jin Tae Hyun recently revealed a touching story about Kim Woo Bin’s kind gesture while he was battling cancer, leaving viewers emotional.
On the October 16 episode of KBS 2TV’s Problem Child in House, Jin Tae Hyun appeared with his wife Park Si Eun, sharing updates about his recovery after undergoing thyroid cancer surgery. The actor shared, “All my post-surgery test results came out normal, and I’m not taking any medication.”
During the show, when asked if he felt sad about people not reaching out, Jin Tae Hyun said he understood that many might have been hesitant to contact him. “Honestly, I didn’t get that many calls. I think people were worried about me and didn’t want to bother me. I wasn’t upset. I wasn’t in the right state of mind anyway,” he explained.
However, what truly moved him was Kim Woo Bin’s unexpected message. “I was really thankful because Kim Woo Bin, who went through nasopharyngeal cancer, somehow got my contact information and reached out to me. We have no personal connection — we’ve never worked together,” he shared.
Host Hong Jin Kyung was touched and said, “That’s not easy to do when you don’t even know the person.” Jin Tae Hyun added, “He even sent me health supplements as a gift.”
The moment left the hosts and viewers deeply moved, with Hong Jin Kyung even saying, “That’s amazing. I’ve just become a fan of Kim Woo Bin.”
Jin Tae Hyun ended by expressing heartfelt gratitude. “It gave me strength. Even though it wasn’t the same type of cancer, hearing from someone who had a similar experience gave me real comfort and motivation,” he said.
