SEVENTEEN’s powerful duo, S.Coups and Mingyu, has officially made K-pop history.
Their first mini album ‘HYPE VIBES’ recorded a massive 887,581 copies sold in its first week, becoming the highest first-week sales ever for a K-pop unit album, according to Hanteo Chart on October 6.
Within just four days of its release, the album had already sold over 840,000 copies, easily surpassing previous records and proving the duo’s incredible global popularity and strong fan support.
‘HYPE VIBES’ also dominated international charts, ranking No. 1 on Korea’s weekly album chart, Japan’s Oricon Daily Album Ranking for three consecutive days, and China’s QQ Music Digital Bestselling Album charts.
The album even earned Triple Gold certification on QQ Music after exceeding 750,000 yuan in sales revenue.
Their title track “5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)” shot straight to No. 1 on Bugs’ real-time chart upon release, while all tracks entered Melon’s Top 100.
Even before its release, the song’s challenge had already gone viral — with videos reaching over 180 million views online and countless fans joining the trend.
SEVENTEEN members The8 and Seungkwan, along with Lay Bankz, also joined the challenge, adding to the excitement.
Fans praised the duo’s flawless performances of “5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)” and “Worth It” on music shows like Mnet’s “M Countdown” and MBC’s “Show! Music Core”, where their stage presence and live vocals impressed viewers.
Celebrating their success, S.Coups and Mingyu held a special fan party “VIBE ALIVE: Chill Moments” in Seoul on October 5, sharing live stages and memories with CARATs.
The two expressed their gratitude, saying, “Every moment creating this album was special. Our activities aren’t over yet, so please continue to enjoy everything we’ve prepared.”
