Actress Seung You recently expressed her deep admiration for YoonA, revealing that the Girls’ Generation member has been her longtime idol and an inspiring co-star.
In a recent interview following the finale of tvN’s hit drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Seung You opened up about working with YoonA and the special bond they formed on set.
The series, which ended on August 28, recorded an impressive 20% viewership rating and received praise for its strong cast and unique storyline.
Seung You, who played the talented chef Ya Feixiu, spoke highly of YoonA, who portrayed Yun Ji Young, saying, “Ya Feixiu and Ji Young weren’t really rivals. They both just had pride in their own cooking.”
She added, “It wasn’t about beating the other person but about their passion for food. Even during the cooking competition scene, there was no bad feeling behind it.”
She continued warmly, “We got along really well during filming. YoonA even sent me a Chuseok gift. We spent so much time together that we didn’t even exchange phone numbers, but she still found a way to reach out. She’s someone who always goes above and beyond.”
Seung You then revealed that she had admired YoonA long before they met. “I’m from the generation that grew up watching Girls’ Generation and dreaming of becoming a singer. I thought, ‘My idol is such a good person. She really is amazing,’” she shared.
“It was really hot and difficult during filming, but YoonA and Lee Chae Min were so professional. YoonA was like a pillar on set.”
Fans were touched by Seung You’s words, praising YoonA for her kindness and professionalism behind the scenes.
Many also admired Seung You’s sincerity in expressing her gratitude toward her idol-turned-co-star, showing how YoonA continues to inspire not just fans, but even fellow actors she works with.
