Son Ye Jin, often called the romance queen and “smile queen,” has officially returned to the big screen after years away, now carrying with her the strength of marriage and motherhood.
The actress, who tied the knot with Hyun Bin and later welcomed their first child, opened up about her everyday life as a mother.
She shared, “After having my baby, I lived very normally, pushing a stroller and focusing all my energy on childcare. I didn’t think about rushing back to work, but I was curious and a little anxious about what my comeback project would be.”
She admitted that stepping back into acting after her break came with mixed emotions: “The first time I left my baby for work, I felt both nervous and a sense of freedom. Before, acting was just a job, but now I enjoy being on set. Acting is still tough, but after such a long break, even the struggles felt precious.”
Son Ye Jin also expressed her passion for choosing her comeback with director Park Chan Wook’s film It Can’t Be Helped. She revealed that her character Miry originally had a smaller role, but the director expanded it, keeping his promise to her. “If I hadn’t done this film, I would have regretted it,” she said, showing how meaningful the project was to her.
With her experience as an actress, a wife to Hyun Bin, and now a mother, Son Ye Jin has returned even more grounded and determined.
After her film comeback, she has already lined up new projects including Netflix’s Scandal and Variety, leaving fans excited to see the next chapter of her career.
