Suzy has opened up about the bittersweet emotions she felt after winning Best Actress for Anna.
On the September 30 episode of Jo Hyun Ah’s Ordinary Thursday Night on YouTube, Suzy joined her longtime friend Jo Hyun Ah for an honest talk over drinks.
Looking back on her big win at the Blue Dragon Series Awards last year, Suzy revealed, “Rather than feeling happy, I thought… I’ve been fortunate to receive many awards, but I often felt they weren’t really mine and felt uncomfortable. But this time I thought, ‘I’m really glad I did this project. I really worked hard.’ I praised myself a little. It was a time for me to recognize myself.”
She also shared how Jo Hyun Ah was the first to congratulate her on that special day. “Unnie wanted to congratulate me right away, so she bought me flowers that don’t wither and sincerely celebrated with me. I was happy too, but I couldn’t be purely happy by myself. Meeting someone who could completely celebrate for me meant a lot.”
Suzy added with gratitude, “When I met unnie, she was happier than me and just purely happy for me. Sometimes I feel like I’m very numb, but when I see her, she’s so warm that I wonder, ‘How can someone be like that?’ I was so thankful.”
Hearing this, Jo Hyun Ah teared up and told Suzy, “That moment, you receiving the Best Actress award, is one of the unforgettable scenes in my life.”
