Actress Song Ji Hyo cleared up the rumors that she was the bride in Kim Jong Kook’s recently revealed secret wedding.
During an interview on October 1, Song Ji Hyo was asked about the marriage news and carefully said, “This is something oppa is very sensitive about.”
Because Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook once had a popular “love line” on SBS’s Running Man, many people assumed she was the one he married.
She directly denied the speculation, saying, “Why does everyone think it’s me? If it were really me, wouldn’t oppa have told someone? I don’t know why people assumed it was me. I feel sorry if it caused any misunderstanding for his wife.”
She also revealed her initial reaction when she first heard the news, saying with a laugh, “At first when oppa said he was getting married, I thought it was for YouTube content, like a fake wedding. He said he had dropped hints, but since he’s such a careful person, he just seemed like the usual Kim Jong Kook to me.”
Song Ji Hyo further explained, “Honestly, even now, we don’t know anything about his wife. We can’t talk about her because we really don’t know. At the wedding, not a single person had their phone out to take photos.”
Fans who once shipped the two stars were left surprised, but Song Ji Hyo ended on a light note, saying, “If you have a love line with me, you end up getting married. If people take good energy from me, that makes me happy too.”
