Super Junior’s Shindong has surprised fans by openly saying, “I got divorced,” years after his past public proposal became a hot topic.
On September 27, a teaser video was released on YouTube channel Geunbon Channel, showing Shindong chatting with actor Lee Si An.
During the talk, Lee Si An asked, “I’m saying this after a drink, but weren’t you married?” Shindong calmly replied, “I got divorced, now,” before the screen quickly added the caption “(it’s a joke).”
Fans were instantly reminded of Shindong’s shocking moment back in 2010, when he made headlines on SBS’s Strong Heart for proposing to his then-girlfriend on-air.
At that time, he even sent her a video message saying, “Will you stay happy with me forever? Please marry me.” However, the relationship ended in 2013.
More recently, Shindong revealed on SBS’s Shoes Off, Single for Men that he had broken up with another girlfriend after three and a half years of dating. As of now, he confirmed that he is single.
Shindong’s unexpected honesty continues to draw attention, as many remember the whirlwind of emotions surrounding his past public proposal and breakup.
