BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) is once again proving his powerful influence in Japan as he was chosen as the role model of a rising J-pop idol.

In a recent interview with Vogue Japan, aoen member Gaku opened up about his passion for fashion and dance. aoen is HYBE’s next-generation J-pop boy group, formed through the audition program Ouen-HIGH and officially debuted in June 2025.

When asked about his style inspiration, Gaku didn’t hesitate to name V, saying, “BTS’s V. I’ve admired V since my trainee days. Back then, I was about sixteen years old, so no matter how much I tried to copy him, it didn’t suit me well. I hope as I get older and my vibe improves, I can dress like V.”

Known as the “textbook of idols,” V is admired by many younger idols who often say they want to grow up to be “as cool and important as V.”

His fashion sense has also made him a “wannabe star” for Japan’s Gen Z, with many men copying his style. Gaku himself once gained attention for showcasing a look inspired by V.

On top of this, V continues to dominate popularity rankings in Japan. He recently achieved 234 weeks at No. 1 on idol ranking site NEHAN, and 230 weeks straight as the top “Korean actor in his 20s” on BIHAN.

He has also held the No. 1 spot for 200 consecutive weeks on K-board’s “K-pop Idol Popularity Ranking” and continues to sweep categories on KPOP JUICE, proving his unrivaled presence.
