Lee Chae Min is officially the industry’s new hot star.
After rising as a next-generation lead actor through tvN’s hit weekend drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Lee Chae Min is receiving nonstop love calls from dramas, ads, and photoshoots.
In the series, he plays Prince Lee Heon, his first ever king role. Despite the challenge, he earned praise for his powerful take on the unique character of a “tyrant with an absolute sense of taste.” Fans are also loving his sweet on-screen romance with Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, calling their chemistry “perfect pink vibes.”
What makes his performance even more impressive is how he prepared. Even though he was cast just one month before filming, Lee Chae Min trained in horseback riding, archery, sword fighting, and even the traditional Cheoyong dance to make his role more complete.
His rising popularity is backed by numbers. He ranked No.1 in the September Actor Brand Reputation Rankings by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute. On top of that, the latest Good Data TV-OTT buzz survey placed him and YoonA at No.1 and No.2 in the cast category, proving just how much attention the two are getting.
The drama is also soaring high. Episode 10 recently hit 15.8% ratings (Nielsen Korea, paid platforms), ranking No.1 across all channels during its timeslot. It also took the No.1 spot on Netflix’s Global Non-English TV chart, showing its global power.
With all eyes on him, insiders revealed that dozens of scripts, ad deals, and magazine shoots are flooding in. One industry source shared that “competition between production companies and brands for Lee Chae Min is fierce.”
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is nearing its end with only two episodes left, wrapping up on September 28. But fans won’t have to wait long—Lee Chae Min is already set to show a completely different side of himself in Netflix’s upcoming series Cashero.
