Fans of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty won’t have to say goodbye just yet!
On September 23, a tvN representative confirmed that a special broadcast is in the works to comfort viewers as the hit weekend drama nears its finale.
They shared, “Thanks to the viewers’ love, we are planning ‘Bon Appétit, Your Majesty Special – No Leaving the Palace’, featuring YoonA, Lee Chae Min, Kang Han Na, Oh Eui Shik, and Lee Joo An. We will reveal more details, including the release platform, once they are confirmed.”
The romantic fantasy comedy first premiered last month and tells the story of a modern-day chef (YoonA) who travels back in time and crosses paths with a tyrant king (Lee Chae Min) known for his perfect palate.
The drama has been praised for its creative use of traditional Korean cuisine and its detailed production, helping spread the charm of K-food worldwide.
Episode 10 recently achieved an impressive 15.8% average rating nationwide on paid platforms (Nielsen Korea), ranking No.1 in its time slot across all channels, including terrestrial TV.
Netflix’s official stats site Tudum also listed the series at No.1 in the Global TOP 10 TV (Non-English) category, proving its international success.
The drama continues to dominate buzz rankings as well. According to Good Data Corporation, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty ranked No.1 in combined TV-OTT drama buzz for the third week of September, while lead actress YoonA held onto the top spot in cast buzz rankings for five consecutive weeks.
With only two episodes left, the highly anticipated finale is set to air on September 28.
