Actor Park Hyung Sik has become the subject of pay controversy after reports claimed he earned 400 million KRW (about $290,000 USD) per episode for his recent drama Twelve.
The KBS2 weekend mini-series ended with ratings of 2.4%, and around the same time, reports spread that Park Hyung Sik received the massive fee, while fellow actor Ma Dong Seok allegedly received 500 million KRW per episode.
On September 17, Park Hyung Sik’s agency Rev Entertainment released an official statement firmly denying the claims. They stated, “From the drama Doctor Slump to the recent Twelve, the reports in the media about Park Hyung Sik’s appearance fees are not true.”
They continued, “Since this has been mistakenly taken as fact, we are clarifying our official position. Park Hyung Sik sincerely devotes himself to every project he takes on. We kindly ask for your warm support for his future activities.”
The agency emphasized that the numbers circulating online are inaccurate and urged fans to continue supporting the actor regardless of false rumors.
