EXO member Baekhyun has set another historic milestone in his career.
On September 4, his agency INB100 announced that Baekhyun became the first-ever Korean celebrity to achieve Diamond Level 1 on Super Topic, a community feature on China’s largest social media platform Weibo.
Super Topic is seen as a major indicator of fandom size and activity in China, ranking artists weekly across nine levels (Silver, Gold, and Diamond).
As of September 1, Baekhyun stands as the only Korean artist to hold a Diamond ranking in his personal Super Topic.
This achievement came right after his “Reverie” world tour stop in Macau on August 30 and 31. Ahead of the concert, Baekhyun held a Weibo live broadcast that drew about 2.19 million viewers, proving his unrivaled popularity in China.
On the concert days, search terms related to him trended at the very top, while his local song cover and challenge performance swept across social media. On Douyin (China’s TikTok), his clips even took 1st to 3rd place on entertainment popularity charts.
Currently celebrating 13 years since debut, Baekhyun is in the middle of his first world tour, meeting fans across South America, North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
