The years-long dating rumors surrounding BTS’s Jimin and actress Song Da Eun have finally been addressed.
On August 31, BigHit Music released an official statement confirming, “The artist did have a connection with the other party in the past with mutual feelings, but this was several years ago. They are not in a relationship at present.”
The agency explained why they had remained silent until now, saying, “We had not made any statements out of respect for Jimin’s privacy and the person involved. However, since there have been continuous speculative reports and false rumors spreading about the artist’s private life, we found it unavoidable to share the minimum facts.”
They also added, “We ask that people refrain from careless speculation about private matters. Please also avoid actions that may cause harm to the person being mentioned along with the artist.”
Rumors between Jimin and Song Da Eun first began in 2022 after she posted on social media, with some fans believing her posts hinted at Jimin. Neither side confirmed nor denied the relationship at the time.
More recently, Song Da Eun uploaded a TikTok video of herself greeting someone near an elevator, sparking fresh speculation and even cohabitation rumors before she later deleted it.
While Song Da Eun has not directly addressed the dating rumors, she has spoken about the stress caused by malicious comments. During a recent late-night live broadcast, she even teared up while saying, “It’s all because of you.”
Song Da Eun, who first gained attention on Channel A’s dating show Heart Signal Season 2 in 2018, later transitioned into acting and appeared in dramas such as Eun Joo’s Room and Once Again.
