Actress Go Min Si has spoken out for the first time about the school violence allegations raised against her.
On August 30, Go Min Si posted a long statement on her personal account, revealing that she had stayed quiet for months while waiting for the results of the investigation.
She wrote, “For months I waited only for the results of the investigation. Countless times a day, I tried to calm my shaking heart and endure it in silence. But now, I feel it is my duty to speak up for those who have been waiting, instead of asking them to wait endlessly.”
Go Min Si admitted that she was not a perfect student, saying, “I know better than anyone that I was an immature student who enjoyed making mistakes and spent my school days carelessly. I regret that time deeply. But just because my past was imperfect, it does not mean I should be falsely accused of things I never did. What is true, I admit. What is not, I firmly deny.”
She strongly denied the claims, stating, “I clearly say that I have never committed school violence.” She added, “Other than an anonymous online post from someone claiming to be a victim, there is no evidence that proves school violence. At the same time, I understand it is not easy to provide clear proof in such cases. Because of that, I submitted every piece of evidence I could to show that I am not a perpetrator. The investigation is still ongoing. Even if it takes time, I will not stop until the truth is revealed.”
The actress also stressed that school violence is a serious issue that must be punished, but warned against abusing the term, saying, “Using it with malicious intent only distorts the issue and weakens the seriousness of real school violence. Please understand how cruel and terrifying it is that in today’s online world, where baseless gossip spreads so easily, a person can be destroyed by lies. The truth will absolutely come to light.”
Back in May, an anonymous post appeared in an online community accusing Go Min Si (under her birth name Go Hye Ji) of bullying classmates since middle school, extorting money, mocking a disabled student, stealing, and using gangs to threaten others.
At that time, her agency Mystic Story denied the claims, saying, “The content is completely false and groundless. Malicious posts based on lies are damaging our artist’s reputation. We have appointed a legal representative today and have begun reviewing and pursuing both civil and criminal legal action.”
Following the controversy, Go Min Si paused her activities after finishing her drama. Now, months later, she has finally spoken up in her own words to address the accusations directly.
