SHINee’s Key touched fans’ hearts after bursting into tears in Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon’s arms when he found out he had won 1st place on a music show.
On August 23, tvN’s variety show Amazing Saturday released a preview video showing the emotional moment.
In the clip, while the cast was focused on the snack quiz, Key quietly checked a message on his phone under the table. Suddenly, he covered his mouth in shock, leaving Taeyeon—who was seated next to him—startled.
When she asked what was going on, Key leaned over and whispered,“I got 1st place,” before breaking down in her arms.
Taeyeon then explained to the confused cast members,“Key just won 1st place on a music show.”
Because of Amazing Saturday’s filming schedule, Key had only pre-recorded his Music Bank stage and wasn’t able to attend the live broadcast. Wiping away his tears, he apologized, saying, “I found out secretly while checking my phone. Sorry.”
To make the moment even more special, the Amazing Saturday cast decided to recreate a mini version of the Music Bank 1st place announcement on set.
Guest group Koyote also joined in, turning the studio into a heartwarming celebration for Key.
