ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo has unveiled his final magazine pictorial as a civilian before his military enlistment.

On August 21, Esquire released Cha Eun Woo’s photoshoot with luxury fashion house Saint Laurent. In the spread, the idol-actor showed off a new charm with a short hairstyle — a look he had never revealed before.

Adding to the touching atmosphere, staff from his agency wore matching shirts with his baby photo and the phrase “Clothes Eun Woo will wear when going to the army,” the same design ASTRO member Yoon San Ha had previously shared on Instagram.

In the interview, Cha Eun Woo said, “I still have some time left before enlistment, but today is my last official schedule. I only realized after getting out of the elevator that the staff had matched their T-shirts to send me off with their hearts. It still doesn’t feel real.”

Explaining his bold haircut, he shared, “Until now, because of commercials and other schedules, I couldn’t freely cut my hair. Since this is my last project, I wanted to leave behind a look with short hair. Also, since it’s a magazine shoot, I thought I should show a bold side of me that I haven’t shown before.”

Cha Eun Woo also expressed his joy in working with Saint Laurent: “When I work on shoots with Saint Laurent, it’s more fun. Looking at unique items like thigh-high boots or leather coats that reach the calves, I enjoy thinking about how to interpret those clothes into photos.”

Even though he has enlisted, Cha Eun Woo reassured fans they will still see him through pre-prepared projects. “I prepared projects in advance so fans wouldn’t feel my absence during these 1–2 years. The movie First Ride, which I filmed with Kang Ha Neul, Kim Young Kwang, Kang Young Seok, and Han Sun Hwa, will be released soon. It’s a story about friends, their youth, and friendship. Also, the Netflix series The Wonderfuls, where I play a principle-driven civil servant who lacks social skills, has finished filming and is waiting for release.”

The September 2025 issue of Esquire, featuring Cha Eun Woo’s cover and pictorial, is available in bookstores starting August 21 and on Esquire Korea’s official website.
