BTS’s Jungkook has once again proven his unstoppable global power.
On August 18, Spotify announced that Jungkook’s solo single Seven (feat. Latto), released in July 2023, has officially surpassed 2.5 billion cumulative streams. This makes it the first-ever song by a Korean artist to achieve this massive milestone.
With this, Jungkook has set yet another unmatched record. In total, his solo tracks have now been streamed over 9.4 billion times, making him the most streamed K-pop solo artist on the platform. His first solo album GOLDEN, which dropped in November 2023, is also close to surpassing 6 billion streams.
But Jungkook’s dominance isn’t just about streams. Seven (feat. Latto) topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, as well as the Global 200 and Global (Excl. U.S.) charts right after release. The track also became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach 1 billion streams—doing so in just 108 days.
Even after two years, the track is still holding strong on the charts. It has stayed on Billboard’s Global 200 for 108 weeks and the Global (Excl. U.S.) chart for 109 weeks, showing its long-lasting popularity worldwide.
The mega-hit also swept major awards, including the 2023 MTV VMAs, 2023 MTV EMAs, 2023 Billboard Music Awards, and 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, cementing Jungkook’s title as a true global pop star.
Known as a passionate serenade, Seven combines an addictive melody with acoustic guitar and UK garage-style rhythms, capturing the feeling of wanting to spend every day of the week with someone special.
ARMYs around the world are celebrating this history-making moment, as Jungkook continues to break barriers and shine as one of K-pop’s biggest icons.
