IU has once again shown her sweet friendship with Park Bo Gum — and revealed a thoughtful gift from him that she can’t stop wearing.
On August 14, IU uploaded a video on her YouTube channel 이지금, where she made a surprise appearance at the final recording of KBS 2TV’s The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile. The show wrapped up on August 1, and IU came with a bouquet of flowers to keep her promise to the host.
“Since it’s the last episode, I came to keep my promise,” IU said, catching Park Bo Gum completely off guard. The actor was so touched by her visit that he even shed tears.
During a break, Park Bo Gum told her, “What? Seriously? Thank you so much. I really didn’t know.”
IU replied, “I’m a bit flustered, too. When you surprise someone, you also end up flustered yourself. But seeing how happy Bogum was makes it worth it. It’s actually midnight right now, and I’m a bit worried about how the audience will get home. Thank you so much to everyone who stayed until the end. I also really loved watching ‘Cantabile’.”
Just a week later, IU met him again — this time as a guest at his solo fan meeting on August 1 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
Laughing, IU said, “During the ‘Cantabile’ recording, I surprised Bo Gum by showing up without telling him. He’s someone who likes to plan, so I don’t think he expected to see me this often. He might even be thinking, ‘Jieun, you’re here again? Don’t you have work to do?’”
She then explored the fancy waiting room Park Bo Gum had prepared for her and shared a gift he gave her that day.
“He’s not the type to overlook even the smallest details. He said this (a shopping bag) wasn’t enough. Since the sun is so strong these days, he got me this. Thank you, Bogum.”
IU then revealed a special shirt he had gifted her before, saying, “There’s a checkered shirt Bo Gum gave me before. I’ve been wearing it all summer. It’s a sky-blue checkered shirt. I’ve been preparing to move for two years now, and I’m almost ready. I’ve already moved my things to the new place. At my current home, I only have two pieces of clothing left — that shirt and another checkered shirt.”
She added with a smile, “I haven’t opened this hat yet, but knowing how thoughtful Bo Gum is, I’m sure it’ll become part of my daily uniform. I’ll use it well.”
