
Lee Soo Hyuk is proving his global star power — and it turns out, his fanbase has been growing steadily without making much noise.
On August 16, the actor will attend the Weibo Gala 2025 – Weibo Cultural Exchange Night in Thailand as Korea’s representative.
The prestigious event, hosted by Weibo, brings together top artists from Korea, China, and Thailand to celebrate cultural and artistic exchange while highlighting the influence of international stars across Asia.
Weibo revealed that Lee Soo Hyuk was chosen thanks to the continued popularity of his hit works in Thailand, including the drama Scholar Who Walks the Night, which has seen a steady 15% increase in fans every year. The drama also remains among the top Korean series on Thailand’s major platform, LINE TV.

His recent leading role in S Line also boosted his international reputation — the drama was invited to compete in the long-form section of the 8th Cannes International Series Festival, where it became the first Korean work to win a music award, drawing massive attention overseas.
According to Weibo’s big data, within just 72 hours of announcing Lee Soo Hyuk’s attendance, the hashtag #LeeSooHyukInternationalCulturalExchange generated 12 related trending topics. One sub-topic alone drew over 80,000 participants, showcasing the impressive strength of his Asian fanbase.
The 2025 Weibo Cultural Exchange Night, featuring Lee Soo Hyuk, will be held on August 16 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok and will be streamed live worldwide via Weibo.
