Actor Ahn Bo Hyun got candid about the struggles he faced back when he was a promising young boxer.

On August 13, comedian Lee Yong Jin’s YouTube channel uploaded a new “Yongtaro” episode featuring Ahn Bo Hyun, who currently stars in the movie Pretty Crazy.

During the chat, Lee Yong Jin asked, “You don’t do much boxing these days, right?”

Ahn Bo Hyun, who attended Busan Physical Education Middle and High School and was a standout boxing prospect in his teens, replied, “These days, I only go when actor Im Si Wan goes.”

Curious, Lee Yong Jin asked if he could feel his fist — and after touching it, he was clearly impressed.

But Ahn Bo Hyun revealed a surprising insecurity, saying, “My hands are big, so I actually feel a bit embarrassed. Because of the calluses, I even have to use my fingers when washing my face with foam cleanser.”

He went on to share, “Back when I was younger, boxing hand straps weren’t made well yet, so I would just hit the sandbag directly. The back of my hand near the bones turned dark. I was so embarrassed about it that I used a callus remover to scrape them off.”

Humbly, he added, “When I was in the 64kg weight class, I was really small. If I hadn’t grown tall, I would’ve been nothing.”
