Highlight’s Yoon Doo Joon proved just how far he’s willing to go for his craft — even battling his severe cat allergy for his latest role.
On August 11, a special online talk for tvN’s short drama series O’PENing 2025 episode Cat Custody War was streamed, featuring Yoon Doo Joon, co-star Kim Seul Gi, producer Kim Kyung Gyu from Studio Dragon, and Yang Si Kwon, head of CJ ENM’s Channel Business Department.
Yoon Doo Joon admitted that working on this drama was a new and challenging experience for him. “I’m naturally not close to cats, so Cat Custody War felt fresh to me and was a challenge,” he shared.
Despite being severely allergic to cats, the actor still went ahead with filming scenes alongside them. “My cat allergy is quite bad, so even if I take medicine, after some time I still have a physical reaction,” he revealed.
But his dedication didn’t stop there. He even praised his feline co-star, saying, “The cat also worked really hard. Seeing it do its best, I couldn’t let myself struggle.”
Cat Custody War follows the story of a divorcing couple, Kim Do Young (played by Yoon Doo Joon) and Lee Yoo Jin (played by Kim Seul Gi), who fight over the custody of the cat they raised together. The drama will air on August 17 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
Fans are praising Yoon Doo Joon for his professionalism and commitment, with many saying they can’t wait to see his chemistry with both Kim Seul Gi and the scene-stealing cat.
