TWICE’s Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu have taken part in a heartfelt project aimed at spreading kindness, respect, and inclusivity across the world.
As part of JYP Entertainment’s JYP 4 EARTH campaign — a social content project launched in 2023 to promote a better planet — the three members starred in two special episodes of A World Where Diversity is Respected, released on JYP’s official YouTube channel on July 31 and August 7.
In the episodes, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu joined a meaningful activity to create a picture book for children overseas who are battling illnesses. This project is part of JYP’s CSR program EDM (Every Dream Matters!), which started in 2022.
The story in the book features characters with different disabilities living together, encouraging readers to think about respect, understanding, and building a more inclusive world.
The members even made a Tagalog-language edition for children in the Philippines, decorating it with traditional patterns and adding their own illustrations to make it truly one-of-a-kind.
They also met with Lee Hyun Jung, CEO of Books International, to learn more about the importance of picture books, the countries they’re sent to, and why they’re made in children’s native languages. The members read aloud from the book, shared encouraging messages, and carefully worked on the final touches.
To deepen their understanding, the TWICE trio learned about four types of disabilities — physical, hearing, developmental, and visual — with guidance from the Korea Differently Abled Federation.
They even tried using assistive devices to experience different ways of communication and discussed how certain everyday phrases can unintentionally create negative perceptions of disabilities.
Wrapping up the project, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu shared, “We’re happy that we could give emotional support to children with the picture book we made ourselves. We must remember that we all live together in society despite our differences.”
They added, “We believe that when understanding and kindness come together, the world can become a warmer place. We also realized how important it is to value and love ourselves, as each of us is unique and irreplaceable.”
Fans are praising the members for showing their warmth and sincerity, calling the project “beautiful both inside and out.”
