BLACKPINK’s Rosé is making headlines again — this time for breaking a major record at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards!
On August 5 (local time), the full list of this year’s MTV VMA nominees was revealed, and Rosé showed her global star power by scoring 8 nominations — the most ever for a K-pop soloist in a single year!
Rosé is nominated in some of the biggest categories, including:

- Video of the Year
- Song of the Year
- Best Collaboration
- Best Pop
- Best Direction
- Best Art Direction
- Best Visual Effects
These seven nominations are all for her hit duet "APT." with Bruno Mars — a song that’s taken over global charts and become a fan favorite.
But that’s not all! Rosé also grabbed a nomination for Best K-pop with her powerful solo track "Toxic Till the End" from her first full-length album “Rosie.”

With 8 total nominations, Rosé officially becomes the first K-pop female solo artist to be recognized across multiple major categories at the MTV VMAs — a moment of pride not only for BLINKs but for K-pop history.
She now stands among this year’s most-nominated artists, right next to:
- Lady Gaga (12 nominations)
- Bruno Mars (11 nominations)
- Kendrick Lamar (10 nominations)
- Sabrina Carpenter (8 nominations)
- Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (7 nominations each)
After hearing the news, Rosé took to social media and shared her honest reaction:
“I just heard that I got 8 VMA nominations. I’m honestly shocked. I was so surprised I couldn’t even speak.”
But Rosé isn’t the only BLACKPINK member being recognized! All four members have been nominated for Best K-pop, showing their individual strength as solo artists. The nominees are:
- Jennie – Like JENNIE
- Jisoo – Earthquake
- Lisa – Born Again
- Rosé – Toxic Till the End
Other Best K-pop nominees include:
- aespa – Whiplash
- BTS’s Jimin – Who
- Stray Kids – Chk Chk Boom
Meanwhile, KATSEYE, HYBE’s new global girl group, is also making a splash. The group earned a nomination for Push Performance of the Year with their debut track "Touch."
The MTV VMAs are one of the four biggest music award shows in the U.S., along with the Grammys, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards. This year’s ceremony will take place on September 7 at the UBS Arena in New York.
Will Rosé bring home multiple wins? Fans can’t wait to find out!
