Lee Mi Joo opened up about a heartfelt moment from her past that had everyone both laughing and feeling emotional.

On the August 1 episode of KBS Joy’s 20th Century Hit Song, the show looked back at “1995’s Top 10 Hit Songs” with the theme “Back to the Summer of 30 Years Ago.”

Hosts Kim Hee Chul and Lee Mi Joo introduced each track with fun commentary — but one song hit a little too close to home.

When Noh Young Shim’s “Only Longing Grows” came in at No. 9, Mi Joo suddenly shared, “I once sang this song while crying in a karaoke room.” Her honest confession caught everyone’s attention.

Curious, Kim Hee Chul asked, “Wait… were you dumped?” Mi Joo laughed and said, “I sang it while thinking about my ex-boyfriend,” hinting at a bittersweet memory that many fans could relate to.

Earlier in the episode, Park Sang Min’s “Jean Girl” was revealed as No. 10. Kim Hee Chul joked that the girl in the song was “younger than Mi Joo is now,” adding that she was 31 back in 1995. Mi Joo reacted in surprise, and Kim teased, “That’s a 30-year age difference with you!”

Mi Joo defended herself by saying, “I’ve had a mature face since high school. This is exactly what I looked like back then,” which sparked laughter.

From funny teasing to emotional memories, the episode showed a new side of Mi Joo — one that fans loved seeing.
