Heize opens up about hitting rock bottom and how PSY’s words changed her life.
On the August 2 broadcast of JTBC’s Knowing Bros (Episode 493), singer-songwriter Heize shared a heartfelt story that moved both the cast and viewers.
The episode featured a special lineup of talented singer-songwriters, with Heize, 10CM, and Bolbbalgan4 appearing as transfer students at the famous “Brother School.”
During a sincere moment on the show, Heize revealed she had gone through a very painful time in her life. “I was really struggling. I had a lot of personal worries, and I didn’t know what to do about my future. Everything crashed down on me all at once, and I just stopped everything,” she said honestly.
She then shared a story about PSY that deeply touched everyone.
“During that time, PSY oppa reached out to me. He called and said, ‘Do you need anything? I’ll help you with whatever I can. But first, you have to help yourself. If you don’t, no one else can. And if you can’t believe in yourself, then believe in the you that I believe in.’”
Heize said those words gave her strength. After that call, she slowly started to care for herself again. “I began going outside to feel the sunlight, started eating properly, drinking more water, and doing little things for myself,” she shared. “Little by little, I got better.”
Fans were touched by PSY’s thoughtful words and Heize’s bravery in opening up. Many praised the bond between the two artists and how PSY’s encouragement helped her during such a tough time.
