Kwon Jung Yeol says he used to dislike Seo Jang Hoon because of something he said 10 years ago.
On the August 2 episode of JTBC’s Knowing Brothers, 10CM’s Kwon Jung Yeol surprised everyone with a story about how he once held a grudge against cast member Seo Jang Hoon — all because of a comment from over a decade ago.
The episode featured singer-songwriters 10CM, Heize, and Bolbbalgan4 as special guests. During the show, Kwon Jung Yeol said he had been hesitant to appear on Knowing Brothers before. “To be honest, I used to be kind of an anti-fan of someone here,” he said, making everyone curious.
“It’s someone from the sports world,” he added, causing cast members Kang Ho Dong and Seo Jang Hoon to look nervous. Seo Jang Hoon said, “But I’ve never even met you,” and Kwon Jung Yeol quickly replied, “You’ve never seen me?”

He then revealed the reason. “A long time ago, I did a duet with Lee Jung sunbaenim on a survival show using a 10CM song. Seo Jang Hoon was one of the judges."
He added, "Everyone liked our stage — but he was the only one who said something bad. He said, ‘This song doesn’t belong on this stage.’ It really hurt me,” Kwon shared.

The cast was shocked, and Seo Jang Hoon looked confused. “That must’ve been over 10 years ago. I really don’t remember it. Why did I say that?” he said honestly.
Kim Heechul then asked, “Wait, are you from Korea University?” joking that Seo Jang Hoon might have shown bias because he’s a Yonsei University ambassador. But Kwon Jung Yeol responded, “I’m actually from Yonsei too,” making the whole studio laugh.
To add another twist, Kwon Jung Yeol said, “I used to play basketball as a kid, and I really liked Seo Jang Hoon.” But when Seo still couldn’t recall him, Kwon joked, “People who hurt others never remember,” which made everyone burst into laughter.
The lighthearted moment showed that while old wounds can sting, sometimes a little humor helps patch things up — and fans loved the unexpected honesty between the two.
