Park Bo Gum couldn’t stop his tears after IU made a surprise appearance during the final episode of his variety show.

On August 1, the last episode of KBS 2TV’s The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile aired, officially wrapping up its 5-month journey. The theme of the night was “Fridays Are for Bo Gum Nights,” and it turned out to be an emotional ride from start to finish.

Park Bo Gum started the show by singing MeloMance’s “Shall We Take a Break?” while running through the audience, bringing energy and excitement to the stage.

Later, he read heartfelt letters from viewers and thanked them for their love and support. Pianist and composer No Young Shim, who was also the first-ever guest on the show, came back with a special surprise — a personally composed song and a touching letter. Park Bo Gum responded with gratitude, saying, “This is the first time I’ve received a gift like this. I’ll work hard and try my best to express the emotions behind your song.”

Video messages from BTS’s V, Roy Kim, and other former guests followed, all praising Park Bo Gum’s effort and warmth as the host. The mood grew even more emotional as these clips played, celebrating his successful time as the MC.

But nothing prepared fans for the final surprise — IU suddenly appeared on stage holding a bouquet of flowers.

IU smiled and said, “Since it’s the last broadcast, I came to keep my promise.” Her unexpected appearance left Park Bo Gum in shock, and he couldn’t hold back his tears.

She added, “I thought you might cry, so I tried to come out looking cheerful.”

Park Bo Gum shared how IU had always been supportive behind the scenes, saying, “She checks the show and sends me messages. I knew she was busy filming, so I didn’t expect her to really come. I’m so touched.”

The two ended the emotional night by singing a duet of IU’s hit song “Friday”, giving fans a sweet and unforgettable final moment on the show.
