Actress Gong Hyo Jin is sharing her honest thoughts — and frustrations — about the delay of her upcoming film The Journey to Gyeongju.
On August 1, Gong Hyo Jin reposted a Story originally shared by actress Park So Dam on Instagram. The photo showed the four lead stars — Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Jung Eun, Park So Dam, and Lee Yeon — standing together as the main cast of The Journey to Gyeongju.
In her caption, Gong Hyo Jin wrote, “When is our movie coming out…” expressing her disappointment over the delay. She then added a light-hearted message to Lee Jung Eun, “Anyway, congratulations to mom on the release of My Daughter is a Zombie first.”
She didn’t stop there. Gong Hyo Jin also wrote, “The Journey to Gyeongju — coming soon. A crazy story about a mom and her three daughters. A revenge story you’re bound to be curious about, right?” hyping up the film and hoping it gets released soon.

The Journey to Gyeongju follows a heartbreaking and emotional plot: after losing her youngest daughter, a mother finds out the criminal has been released from prison. She then takes her three daughters with her on a revenge-filled trip to Gyeongju.
What’s adding to the frustration is that this movie actually finished filming a lot earlier. Production started in May 2024 and wrapped up by August 12, 2024.
However, My Daughter is a Zombie, which started filming later — from August 29 to December 20, 2024 — already hit theaters on July 30, 2025.
With no confirmed release date yet for The Journey to Gyeongju, it’s no surprise that Gong Hyo Jin and fans are feeling impatient. Let’s hope the wait isn’t too much longer!
