“Little IU” is finally living her idol dream — and it’s all thanks to PSY!
On the July 25 episode of KBS 2TV’s music variety show The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile (Ep. 20), rookie girl group Baby DONT Cry made a special appearance alongside guests 10CM, Maria Kim, and Ha Hyun Sang.
Baby DONT Cry is a brand-new group produced by PSY under P Nation, with direct production from (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon.
The members proudly explained the meaning behind their unique name: “Senior Soyeon from (G)I-DLE named us. It means we’re not weak at all — even if our name sounds sad.”
Member Benny, born in 2008 and the youngest in the group, shared her journey: “I was the first trainee at P Nation. I joined when I was just 12 and trained for 6 years. The company was still new, but I trusted PSY and signed with him right away.” Park Bo Gum smiled and congratulated her on her long-awaited debut.

She also added a funny story: “At first, I only knew our name as BDC. I even thought it stood for ‘Barbie Doll Collection’ because we looked like Barbies. But the real meaning was something we didn’t expect.”
Another member, Mia, from Japan, said PSY was also the reason she came to Korea: “I joined a dance academy and got cast just three days later. My parents were unsure, but since PSY is super famous in Japan for ‘Gangnam Style,’ they supported me.” Her story brought laughter to the set.

But the most emotional moment came from Lee Hyun, who many may remember as “Little IU” from Fantastic Duo. She revealed, “I was on a show with our CEO before. That’s when he started to like me.”
A clip from her stage with IU 8 years ago was played, bringing back memories. Host Park Bo Gum couldn’t help but smile and say, “She’s really cute.”
Now, after 8 years and under the guidance of PSY and Soyeon, Lee Hyun is officially making her debut with Baby DONT Cry — and fans are cheering her on every step of the way.
